ALL ABOUT BCAC

The object of our Fraternity, written by our Founders, continues to inspire us as alumnae, just as it did when we were collegians.  We're happy and proud to be members of an organization that has been in the business of women helping women since 1897. Few know better than alumnae how lives can be enriched by lifelong friendship.

The Bucks County Alumnae Chapter was founded August 1, 1956.  Our members come from many walks of life and from many different chapters, and you're sure to find a place among these AOIIs.  We hold formal meetings, support local and AOII philanthropic causes, and have spur-of-the-moment events we call a "Random Act of Sisterhood."  We've had many different experiences as collegians but share the same experience as alumnae and are proud of our Ritual, unchanged since 1897.  Did you know there are almost 500 AOIIs in Bucks County?  Join us for an event, or a ZOOM event.  Remember, you don't have to be a dues-paying member of the Alumnae Chapter to come to the AOParty.  Contact us at aoiibuckscounty@outlook.com with any questions you might have.pha Omicron Pi

HOW TO JOIN

It's easy for an AOII to become a member of the Bucks County Alumnae Chapter.  Visit the 'Join the BCAC' page for details. Or you can send us an email to ask for a membership form or just come to a meeting and our treasurer or president will help you become an official member. There's a new process for paying alumnae dues, so we'll help you through it. If your busy schedule prevents you from joining right now, then email us to be added to our distribution list so you can get the latest AOII news.  Recent graduates can participate in the First Year on Us program and join for free. Make this the year you re-connect with AOII, you'll be happy you did.

NOTE: If you're a high school senior who is interested in participating in fall Recruitment, we can help you submit a Membership Information Form (MIF).  Some colleges and universities require these forms, sometimes referred to as recommendations. Visit Recommendations or Email us if you have questions about this process.

COLLEGIATE SUPPORT

The Bucks County Alumnae Chapter supports the sisters of the Lambda Upsilon Chapter at Lehigh University and the sisters of the Phi Beta Chapter at East Stroudsburg University.   We're happy to follow their progress as they exhibit all the best that AOII stands for.  And we're proud that members of our alumnae chapter have stepped forward to serve on the Alumnae Advisory Committee (AAC) for both chapters.  Please visit their websites, follow them, and encourage them as they make us AOProud.  We hope you visit the website of our collegiate neighbors to the south, the Sigma Beta Chapter at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia.

PHILANTHROPY

In addition to raising money and awareness for arthritis and related diseases, our sisters recognize the importance of giving back in many other ways.  Alpha Omicron Pi challenges each AC (Alumnae Chapter) to annually support an event that benefits the Arthritis Foundation or the American Juvenile Arthritis Organization.

Individually, our sisters are members of or volunteer on behalf of A Woman's Place in Doylestown, the March of Dimes, the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, The Audubon Society, local libraries, and many other worthy causes and organizations. There are almost 500 AOIIs living in Bucks County.  We invite you to help us make a difference in our community.

The chapter supports A Woman's Place as its local philanthropy.  This non-profit is the only organization of its kind in the county that is devoted to providing assistance to women and their children.  The chapter also happily supports other local non-profit organizations that provide opportunities and assistance for Bucks County families.
